Firearm Safety Courses

The CFSC and CRFSC courses are given in a face-to-face/hands-on format. Effective May 10th, 2024, the CFSC is an 8 hour class commences at Friday evenings at 6pm to 10pm. It will continue Saturday morning at 8 AM and ends at approximately 6 PM; this duration doesn't include breaks, lunch, or the exam period. Testing, both written and practical, will occur at the Saturday. The CRFSC is a 6 hour class which must be conducted within 30 days of the CFSC either back-to-back with it or separately. This course starts at 8 AM Sunday to 5 PM and testing will occur at the end of the day. Students will be informed if they have passed or failed same day, with retry exams offered if needed for nominal fee of $25.00.

Possession Acquisition License (PAL)

On successful completion of the course, eligible students can create an application to gain a Possession Acquistion License (PAL). This application process is done via postal service or online through the RCMP website, with accompanying instructions on how to submit an application.

Course Prices

The cost of the course is as follows: Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC): $195.00 includes HST; Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC): $195.00 includes HST. If taking the Back-to-Back CFSC and CRFSC: $330.00 includes HST. Hardcopy manual provided at the course and covers both topics. Payment can be made through e-transfer (arnotw@yahoo.com) or cash.
